tides that rock your socks

next year will be quite a big change for me. It will be a very good learning experience if I say yes to it. but i've been warned subtly it's a long- time commitment. if I take ownership, I'll have to do it for quite some time...a few years...'til i'm married off to some other church xp, if i do. another part of me is saying i'm not ready, saying that it's a daunting responsibility. and the fear is not helping either. I need to have a sit-down-cum-coffee-session with The Sifu before agreeing to it.. :/

Will I take the baton? Will I rely on Him as I take ownership, or just my own strength? Or will I give it a pass and continue to stay in my little comfort shell?

2013 will tell. :)

As for now, this is gona be in my mind for a while. ugh.. decisions, decisions. Since when are they ever easy? Yup it's a rhetorical question.

The Gem

I know this is late but... the band Queen is ahmahzing. Beyond comprehension by any living person. Freddie Merc is brilliant. Absolutely god-gifted. I don't know how I led myself to Queen tht made me realized how awesome they are.i can't believe I've never really listened to them! prolly coz of different era.

I wiki-ed Freddie and read his brief bio and background and i must say...hmm not the most innocent guy around but he had an amazing amazing talent and you can't deny it. I mean, his composition on Bohemian Rhapsody was real intricate. So so sad he died of HIV. And get this: "Although he cultivated a flamboyant stage personality, Mercury was a very shy and retiring man in person, particularly around people he did not know well". From Wiki. wow no kidding. -.-

What a sad thing to die so early at age 45 with SO much talent. :(

baba yetu

I can't believe it's mid-oct now. means 2 more months 'til 2012 comes to an end. Time really flies.

A few church mates & I went for Ovation by The Canticle Singers to support my church mate, aliza who's singing innit :) met my dear coursemate, Cherie and her matriculation friend there whoa what a surprise. Annnd I got to see my lecturer sing too! :) They were pretty awesome. Cherie and I were in awe haha.

I have much to learn in handling a choir and stuff like that because I'm a major noob and very inexperienced unlike joseph the choir head, but whatever comes my way, with God's guidance and courage I'll try my best. to God be the glory.

here's a song to end this post, called Baba Yetu. Cherie posted on my fb wall and man it's so addictive! it was also the first song tht was sung by The Canticles. this masterpiece was composed by Christopher Tin for a game called Civilization. But it was made into SATB for a capella with percussion accompaniment. 'Baba Yetu' is a Swahili language-translation of the Lord's Prayer. You should look up the composer, Christopher Tin. reading his achievements on wiki really amazes me, hence his brilliant composition for baba yetu. fuyoh hot stuff. (source: Wiki)

have a good October. :)
